Ruthanne and I were fortunate to grow up with parents who could cook. Except for one incident with rice and meatballs we don’t really have memories of bad meals. We thought it might be fun to share some of our favorite Hahn family recipes with you.
This pasta is perfect for a summer evening. And, unlike most cream based pastas, this one reheats well, so leftovers still taste great.
Being Hahn’s means that we are required to enjoy bread and cheese, in any and all forms. This brie and fig appetizer is made on a base of puff pastry, only takes a few minutes to put together, and tastes like dessert. We have also made a version of this in mini muffin cups using phyllo dough. Either was they are delicious.
We made this lemonade for July 4th last year, and it was probably the best I’ve ever had. You can’t go wrong with a recipe that starts with a vanilla bean! I can’t wait to try a bunch of new recipes with vanilla beans when Ruthanne brings home a bunch this summer!
Maybe it’s because we are from Florida, where citrus is abundant, but we can’t pass up a recipe with lemon! We made these cookies once before Ruthanne and Evan moved overseas, and I’m looking forward to making them again soon. They are perfect – light and delicious – and look pretty enough to serve at a party.
So, there you have it! Now, let us know what you enjoy making. We are always looking for something new to try.
