Raspberry Sauce

This is probably the best raspberry sauce I’ve had. It has just the right amount of sweetness, but is still tart enough to pair with a rich chocolate dessert. Perfect for Valentine’s Day or really any time you want a quick and easy sauce. We have used this sauce in milk shakes, on breakfast breads, and with flour-less cakes. It is versatile and easy, which makes it perfect for this Valentine’s Day since it falls mid week.

Raspberry Sauce

Ingredients:

2 1/2 cups frozen raspberries

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1/4 cup Grand Manier (or orange juice)

Directions:

Combine all ingredients in a sauce pot on medium heat and stir to combine. Cook for 3-5 minutes, until sugar is dissolved and raspberries begin to soften.

Transfer to blender and puree until smooth. Strain sauce over small bowl to remove some of the seeds. Chill or use as a warm sauce.

Store in a closed container in the refrigerator for up to one week.

Recipe adapted from Williams Sonoma.
